Building a great front-end with more than code

I recently came across a blog post from Baremetrics called Step-by-Step: Creating amazing GIFs to announce new features. I was super impressed by the new GIFs that they made and although I'd never heard of ScreenFlow before, I paid the $99 and was making videos within a day (here are my Sneak Peek and New Feature videos). Getting the Sneak Peek videos into the app (screenshot) to show users the potential of the app once they've activated their account is as important as how pretty the front-end is. My takeaway is essentially this - sometimes you need to be a front-end developer, and sometimes you need to develop the front-end in non-code ways. Both contribute to the UX and UI.
