As I've mentioned I'm in the midst of building a few apps that require RESTful APIs and I found these guiding points to be quite practical and helpful, especially when building your first few APIs.
There are a few names in web dev that everyone knows. One is David Walsh and this guide is an example of why. TL;DR is to use Picturefill, but most importantly he explains all the pitfalls of the many responsive image strategies, including Picturefill itself.
Meteor.js is still in v0.9.4 and there's concern that since there are no Meteor jobs yet - fair. But from my Meteor dabbling I feel that getting a prototype or MVP with no Node experience is probably easiest with Meteor.
